Hobencast 1550F - Monolithic Refractory Castable

Application

Hobencast 1550F is a low iron, fine grained, hydraulically bonded, dense, refractory castable for use under reducing conditions.

Mixing Instructions

25kg of 1550F requires approximately 2.25 to 2.6 litres of water. Installation should be by casting and vibration. 2.3 Tonnes of material will be required to install 1m3 of 1550F.

Classification

It is not advisable to use Hobencast 1550F beyond a maximum service temperature of 1550°C (=MST). Hobencast 1550F has a typical permanent linear change of +0.2% when fired to 1000°C for 3 hours and -1.3% when fired to 1500°C for 3 hours.

Chemical Composition

Hobencast 1550F is an aluminous castable having a typical Alumina content of 54.4%, Silica content of 38.2% and Iron Oxide content of 0.8%.

Packaging & Storage

Hobencast 1550F is supplied in 25kg paper sacks, which should be kept dry and used in rotation within 12 months. Exposure to moisture and prolonged storage will result in deterioration.
