Zircon Wash (L546D)

Application

Zircon Wash (L546D) is a "dry powder", refractory "wash", which requires mixing with water before use. The amount of water needed is dependent on the method of application (brushing or spraying being commonly used), the thickness required per application and personal preference. As an approximate guide 1kg of wash would need 1 litre of water; mixing can be achieved readily by hand, but some means of mechanical assistance is preferred for complete dispersion.

Classification

It is not advisable to use Zircon Wash (L546D) beyond a maximum service temperature of 1600°C (=MST).

Packaging & Storage

Zircon Wash (L546D) is supplied in 25kg paper sacks. Zircon Wash (L546D) on exposure to moist air, or compression, will tend to 'cake' which may require longer mixing times.
